TUT joins SAFIRE

The Tshwane University of Technology have signed the Participation Agreement and joined SAFIRE as a fully functioning identity provider. Welcome TUT!

Two institutions join SAFIRE

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology and Rhodes University have signed the Participation Agreement and joined SAFIRE. Both institutions are in the final stages of completing their SAML technical integration, and we would like to welcome them on board as a fully functioning identity providers very soon.

UP joins SAFIRE

The University of Pretoria has signed the Participation Agreement and joined SAFIRE. They are in the process of completing their SAML technical integration, and we hope to welcome them on board as a fully functioning identity provider in the near future.

Unplanned Service Outage

Between 14:35 and 16:30 SAST on Thursday 10 May, SAFIRE’s federation hub experienced an unexpected failure that would have prevented any users from logging into federated services.

High Availability Architecture

A new high-availability architecture was recently deployed in order to improve the redundancy and resilience of the Federation infrastructure.
